I collected three government agency checks.
\nI am writing this just as a record for myself.

\nBecause using personal check is very unusual for Japanese.

When you open your personal bank account in Japan,
\npersonal checks would not be provided.
\nEven if you get a check somehow in Japan,
\nnone of stores will accept your check as a payment method.
\nIn general, people don’t use a personal check in Japan.
\n\u3082\u3057\u3042\u306a\u305f\u304c\u65e5\u672c\u306b\u884c\u3063\u3066\u500b\u4eba\u306e\u9280\u884c\u53e3\u5ea7\u3092\u958b\u3044\u3066\u3082\u3001\u666e\u901a\u306f\u5c0f\u5207\u624b\u306f\u304f\u308c\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002

When I saw my personal check at the first time in U.S,
\nI felt very strange.

Before I moved in U.S., only the image I had about personal check was a story I saw in movies or TV dramas, such as….
\nOne millionaire wants to let his daughter break up with her boyfriend who has different social standing from hers.
\nThe father throws his check and says to boyfriend, \u201cplease fill in the amount you need, and do not meet my daughter ever again\u201d.

I learn many things about the personal check system since I moved in U.S.
\nIn the above case, can boyfriend write any big amount in the millionaire’s check?
\nAnswer is \u201cNO\u201d.
\nBoyfriend has to decide the amount carefully.
\nThere are some funny rules about personal check.

If the boyfriend fills out the check with an amount larger than the available amount in the millionaire’s account, he can receive no money and the check became just a piece of paper.

\nThen, when the boyfriend tries to deposit the check to his account and it didn’t get clear, I will tell my daughter “your boyfriend didn’t chose you but money”
\nIn the above story, my credit score can get decreased due to the bounced check.
\nBut if I ware real millionaire, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
